Step 1
When you communicate in ICQ and other messenger programs, all sent and received messages are saved in the folder of this program. The process of deleting the history of correspondence in ICQ of different versions may differ slightly. Usually it looks like this: start ICQ, click "Menu" - "Contacts" - "Message history". In the list of correspondence, select the lines that you want to delete, and press Del on the keyboard, then confirm the action.
Step 2
Another way is to select the desired contact in the list, right-click on it, select "Message history". A window with your correspondence will open. To erase it, click the "Delete" button. If you want to delete messages selectively, select them while holding down the Ctrl key, press Del on your keyboard and confirm your actions.
Step 3
The entire history of correspondence of messenger clients is saved on the hard drive of a computer or laptop in system folders. The path to it looks something like this: C: Documents and Settingsyour_accountApplication DataICQyour_nameMessages.mdb. The Messages file is what you need to delete. It happens that the history is stored in text format - correspondence with each interlocutor in a separate file. You can view this correspondence, erase individual phrases, or delete the files entirely. If you suddenly cannot find the Application Data folder on the C drive, it means that your system files on your computer are not displayed. For this folder to appear, you need to change the settings. To do this, in any folder, click the "Tools" tab - "Folder options" - "View" - "Display the contents of system folders".
Step 4
If desired, you can manage the Messages.mdb message file using Microsoft Access (database software). To do this, you need to understand the SQL query language. This way you can delete history by nickname, messenger number, or the entire ICQ correspondence history in its entirety.
