ICQ numbers are issued only on the official website, and only free of charge. If you are offered to get an ICQ number on another site, and even for a fee, do not agree.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the official ICQ website. To do this, you can use both a computer and a smartphone. Enter your first and last name (or the desired nickname consisting of two separate words), as well as your mobile phone number. The number must be real - a confirmation code will be sent to it, which will then need to be entered into the form on the site. Press the button "Receive SMS with code". You will receive an SMS message shortly on your phone. Open it up.
Step 2
Immediately after pressing the button “Receive SMS with code”, it will disappear, and the “SMS-code” field will appear in its place. Enter in it the six-digit numeric code received in the SMS message. Click the "Redeem Code" button. Although on many sites performing such an operation is equivalent to sending a paid SMS message, there is nothing to be afraid of on the official ICQ website - activation is free.
Step 3
After successful activation of the code, you will see a green checkmark with the words "The code has been successfully activated", as well as a button "Fill in the profile and upload an avatar." Click on it. The questionnaire will be loaded. Write down the number indicated on it (UIN - unique identification number), edit the data in which you want to make changes, if you wish, attach the file with the avatar, and click the "Save" button. Now click on your nickname in the upper right corner of the page and select "Exit" in the menu that appears.
Step 4
Forget about passwords - they are used by members who registered in ICQ in previous years. They were replaced by a new authorization method. After launching the client or by going to the official ICQ website by clicking the "Login" link, instead of the "By password" login method, select "By SMS". Enter your phone number and click the "Get Code" button. Having received the SMS, enter the digital code from it in the "Code specified in the SMS" field within five minutes (while the stopwatch is displayed) and press the "Authorize" button. You can now use your account. Don't forget to get out of it.
