The tag cloud is not just a fashion statement. Thanks to him, navigation and linking on the site is greatly simplified. However, if you decide to put a tag cloud on your resource, do not forget to then make sure that it does not turn into a mess.
Instructions
Step 1
Download a plugin from the official WordPress site (https://www.wordpressplugins.ru) to help you install a tag cloud on your site. For example, the most common one is Simple Tags. After downloading, unpack the archive to any folder on your computer or directly to the root directory on your server / wp-content / plugins. To complete the installation, open the admin panel on the site, click on the "Plugins" link and activate the copied module in this way.
Step 2
To ensure that the tags in the cloud display correctly and do not mix with each other, set the correct parameters. To do this, on the page with the plugin installed, refer to the "Settings" menu or find the corresponding item in the "Parameters" section. Since this module is fully Russified, setting up will not take much of your time.
Step 3
Select the parameters that you need. Choose size and width, set up automatic linking. Decide if you want to sort the tags alphabetically or by date added. Pay attention to the color of the cloud, because if it matches the color of the background of the pages, this can be regarded by search engines as an attempt at so-called "black optimization" (tweaking the veiled code into the page). As a result, the site can be blocked.
Step 4
There are also a number of required settings. To avoid mixing up the tags, select the Uniform Tag Arrangement option. After you set all the parameters, add the tag cloud to the page. To do this, you need to enter the corresponding line with the plugin code into its code.

If you want to add a tag cloud to your site's sidebar, you don't need to add the plugin code to the sidebar.php file. Go to the "Widgets" section in the admin panel and copy the module to one of the panels by holding it with the left mouse button. To change the settings in this case, open the widget, set new parameters and click "Save".
