For an office or home LAN to work properly, it must be configured correctly. Typically, when connecting additional equipment to computers, a static IP address is set for them.

Step 1
First, build your own local network. This can be done using a network hub. Connect this unit to AC power and install it in an accessible place. Remember that the hub must be connected to the mains at all times for the hub to function.
Step 2
Connect the desktops to the Ethernet (LAN) connectors on the network hub. To make this connection, you need pre-prepared network cables with connectors at both ends.
Step 3
Now connect your MFP or printer to your computer. Configure the settings for the new device. Be sure to indicate the extent to which it is accessible to other users. This can be free access or password protection of the printer.
Step 4
To avoid searching for this printer after every restart of the computer to which it is connected, configure this PC. Open the list of active network connections.
Step 5
Select the network adapter connected to the hub. Click on its icon with the right mouse button and select "Properties". Now open the TCP / IP Internet Protocol Settings. Check the box next to Use the following IP address.
Step 6
Set the value of the IP address of this network adapter. If this computer needs to access the Internet through a router or other server, then write down the IP address of this required device in the "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server" fields. Save the parameters of the configured menu by clicking the "OK" button.
Step 7
Perform the same configuration of network adapters for the rest of the computers on your network. Please note that you need to set a new value for the IP address each time. In order to avoid problems associated with access to a network printer, it is recommended to change only the fourth segment of the "IP address" field, i.e. the general scheme of IP addresses will look like this: 156.134.126. X.
