Instructions

Step 1

If you need to connect two computers to the network, then you need three network cards. Connect the second AC adapter to your most powerful computer. This PC will have an additional load associated with the distribution of the Internet channel. If you want to use a laptop for this purpose, then purchase a special USB-LAN adapter.

Step 2

Connect the two computers together using a network cable. Turn on both PCs so that the operating systems can detect the new network. Open the Network and Sharing Center on the host computer. Go to the network adapters settings. Connect the internet connection cable to this PC. Configure this connection. In this case, you must use the standard network parameters.

Step 3

Open the properties of your Internet connection by right-clicking on the corresponding icon. Go to the "Access" tab. Allow computers on another LAN to use this Internet connection. Save the settings for this connection. Open the properties of another network card. Navigate to the TCP / IP Internet Protocol Settings. Select the item responsible for using a permanent IP address. Enter its value, for example 169.169.169.1.

Step 4

Go to the second computer. Open the list of active networks and select the network adapter that is connected to the first PC. Open TCP / IP settings. Enter the permanent IP address, for example 169.169.169.2. Press the Tab key to automatically detect the subnet mask. Now enter the IP address of the first computer to act as a server in the Default Gateway and Preferred DNS Server fields. Save the parameters of this network card. Be sure to disable the firewall on the first computer.
