Step 1
ICQ is a program for Internet communication. The interlocutors exchange SMS messages in real time. The exchange is accompanied by special sounds. Such signals are convenient: if you are busy with something other than a computer, a sound signal immediately informs you that you have received a message. If, when working with this program, there is no such characteristic sound when SMS messages arrive, then first of all open the ICQ program. To determine why there are no beeps when ICQ is working, on the topmost panel where the icons are located, find the icon with the loudspeaker. Maybe the sound in the program is just turned off. Click on this icon, the sound should appear.
Step 2
If there is no signal, follow these steps. If you have ICQ 7 software installed, click the "Menu" icon. A small pop-up window should appear on the screen. In this window, find the inscription "Settings" (a wrench may be drawn), click on this icon. Find the Sounds icon in the settings.
Step 3
Click on the "Sounds" icon with the left mouse button. A section titled "adjusting the program audio parameters" will open. Then, in these settings, set the necessary parameters "enable", "disable" or "change" the sound, for this, check or, on the contrary, remove the checkbox in the item you need.
Step 4
To set your own sound for an event, follow these steps. In the list, mark the event you need and click the "Change" button. But when choosing a sound signal, pay attention to the format of the selected sound files (wav). Only select files of this type.
