Instructions
Step 1
Launch Skype on your computer and enter your username and password. If you don't have a Skype account yet, you can register very quickly. In the top panel, select the "Tools" tab. In the window that opens, click on the "Settings" button. In the window that opens, on the left, select "Sound settings". Now a dialog box is open in front of you, in which you can sequentially configure the microphone and speakers.
Step 2
Microphone settings.
First, check if the microphone is inserted into the system unit of your computer. This is a pink connector on the front or back panel. If not, then insert. There are laptop models in which microphones are already built-in.
Step 3
In the column opposite "Microphone" select your microphone from the offered devices. Even if it is built into a laptop or system unit, it will appear in the proposed list.
Step 4
By moving the slider, which is set to maximum by default, select the required sound limit for your microphone.
Step 5
Uncheck the "Allow automatic microphone setup" checkbox. This will allow you to change the microphone sound setting just once and not remember this problem again.
Step 6
Speaker settings.
Check if the headphone jack or speaker plug is plugged into the headphone jack. The connector for them on system units, as well as laptops, is green.
Step 7
In the column opposite "Speakers" select from the proposed the device that you inserted into the connector in the previous paragraph. It is worth noting here that if your system unit has several connectors and a plug from headphones or speakers is inserted into each of them, then you will have to choose through which the sound from the program will be played. If there is only one connector or only headphones or speakers are connected, then in this case it is suggested to select "by default Windows", or in some operating systems your sound card (as usual, it is "Realtek").
Step 8
By moving the slider, which is set to maximum by default, select the required sound limit for your speakers.
Step 9
Uncheck the "Auto speaker setup" checkbox.
Step 10
Make a test call to Skype to check your settings. Change them if necessary. If this happens, repeat the steps again to optimally adjust the sound in Skype.
