The speed of the Internet, in most cases, depends on the high cost of the selected tariff. And in order to increase it, it is enough to purchase a more expensive tariff. However, if this is not possible, then the connection can be optimized by means of the operating system, making the use of the Internet more comfortable without additional costs.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine which applications are using your internet connection in the background. Typically, these programs are online radios and streaming video programs, download managers, torrent clients, and many others. To increase the speed of work, close these applications, or work with the parameters of these programs.
Step 2
Go to the settings of the download manager and torrent client, and set a limit on the download speed (a speed equal to 20% of the speed of the general channel will be sufficient).
Step 3
Select a lower bitrate of the stream being played in the radio and streaming video player. For example, instead of 128 kilobits per second, choose 92 or 64 kilobits. In the video player, set a lower video resolution (instead of 480p, choose 360p or less).
Step 4
Go to your browser settings and change some of them. For example, if you pay more attention to text when surfing the web, then disable the loading of images. This will help to significantly improve the browsing experience. Likewise, turn off video, sound and other multimedia elements on the pages. At the same time, the speed of opening pages will increase significantly.
Step 5
Use content compression tools such as Opera Turbo. Please note, however, that with content compression tools enabled, some elements of web pages will not work in the browser (for example, online document editors).
Step 6
Install an optimizer program (eg Ashampoo WinOptimiser) on your computer and use it to optimize your internet connection. Typically, these kinds of programs automatically disable unnecessary Windows services that are using the connection, resulting in an increase in performance. In addition, with the help of these programs, you can manually block some startup programs that often actively use Internet traffic.
