To create your own home LAN, you need a router. If you want to include laptops in it, then it is wiser to purchase a device with Wi-Fi network support.

Before purchasing a Wi-Fi router, check the specifications of your laptops. Pay attention to the types of security and radio signal they work with. Naturally, you need a device with a DSL connector to connect to the internet.

Purchase a Wi-Fi router and connect it to your phone line through a splitter. This device separates high and low frequencies.

Connect your computer or laptop to the router via LAN (Ethernet). To do this, use a network cable. Turn on your computer and open your browser. Enter the IP of the router into its address bar, pre-setting the line

Before setting up the equipment, it is recommended to update its software version. To do this, go to the official website of your router manufacturer and download the required files.

Open the "Software Version" menu (Main Interface), click the "Update" button and specify the path to the downloaded files. Now go to the Internet Setup menu. Change the settings for connecting to the server to those recommended by your provider.

Go to the Wi-Fi Settings, Wireless Setup menu. Create a wireless hotspot with its name, password, radio transmission types, and security.

To provide access to the Internet, the Wi-Fi router must be turned on and connected to a telephone line. Unplugging the device from the mains will not reset its settings.
