ICQ instant messaging program provides convenient communication on the Internet. At the same time, many users are not satisfied with the constantly changing advertisements in the main window of the program. Commercials in icq can be disabled.
Instructions

A large number of free icq analogs, in which there is no advertising, have appeared on the network. But, if you are accustomed to the icq client and do not want to reinstall the program, you will need to make changes to its structure.
Step 2
In order to disable advertising flash videos in icq you need to have administrator rights or have a full set of rights to the icq directory. If you are running ICQ, right-click on the flower icon and select Exit.
Step 3
Double click on the "My Computer" icon. Highlight drive C and press Enter. Open the Program Files folder. Full address of folder C: Program Files ICQ6 (or ICQ version 7, etc.).
Step 4
In the list of files and folders, you need to find the MBContainer.dll file. This file is responsible for all kinds of advertising. Delete this file by pressing the Shift + Delete keys.
Step 5
Run the ICQ program. There will be no advertisements in the program at this time. If you exit the program and enter it again, the advertisement will appear again. This is due to the fact that the ICQ developers provided the ability to delete the advertising file. Therefore, the next time the program starts, it does not find this file (MBContainer.dll) and downloads it via the Internet.
Step 6
Exit the program again. Locate the MBContainer.dll file in the above path and delete it again. Deny all rights to the Updates subdirectory located in the main program folder.
Step 7
Right-click the Updates folder. From the context menu, select the "Properties" item, in the window that opens, go to the third tab "Security". In the Group or Users section, select System. Put the pointer in the "Deny" item next to the "Full access" item. Then click "Apply". Thus, you will deny access to the folders and subfolders of the Updates catalog of the ICQ program.
