Users have long been accustomed to the fact that on various sites, a personal profile can be supplemented with an original avatar. In real-time communication programs - ICQ or QIP - you can also upload a thumbnail image that will characterize the author. This can be done in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
The described steps are suitable for both QIP and ICQ applications. Run the program and enter your username and password. In the main window, find the icon in the form of a sheet of paper with the letter "i" on the toolbar and click on it with the left mouse button. A new dialog box will open. If you hold the cursor on the indicated icon for a few seconds, a hint caption "Show / change my data" will appear.
Step 2
The left side of the window that opens will contain menu sections, and above them - a field labeled "no icon". This is what is intended for your avatar. Click on the "Load Icon" button located immediately below the empty field. In the "Open" window, select a picture that will serve as your avatar.
Step 3
Given that the standard collection of pictures in programs is limited, you might want to use your own picture. To do this, specify in the window the directory where the user picture is saved. When creating or choosing an avatar, remember that only an image of the specified proportions will do. The minimum avatar size is 15x15 px, and the maximum is 64x64 px.
Step 4
After you indicate which image should serve as an avatar, click on the "Open" button, the selected picture will be displayed in the field. Click on the "Save" and "Close" buttons at the bottom of the window.
Step 5
There is another way to add an avatar. Open a message box for any user on the list. The toolbar is located at the bottom of the window. Double-click the left mouse button on the left side of this panel in the field labeled "no name".
Step 6
A window will open in which you will need to specify the path to the image that will become your avatar. After selecting the desired picture, click on the "Open" button, after a second or two the image in the field will be updated and your chosen avatar will be displayed.
