Surely many have used and are still using icq clients, the so-called Internet messengers. Over time, there is a need for some kind of variety: change the appearance of the program, replace old emoticons with new ones, etc. You can change emoticons in a few minutes.
Necessary
- Software:
- - WinRar;
- - QIP 2012;
- - ICQ 7.6;
- - Pidgin 2.10.
Instructions
Step 1
Recently, the QIP program has become a frequently used icq client. At the moment there are several subspecies of this software, the latest modification is QIP 2012. In all versions of QIP products, emoticons can be replaced by the usual addition of a folder with emoticons or replacing existing ones with new ones. You can download them from the official website
Step 2
After downloading to your hard drive, unpack them from the archive using the WinRar program. In the directory that opens, navigate to the Animated folder and copy it to the C: Program FilesQIP 2012Skins folder. If you are going to add several sets of emoticons, it is recommended to change the name of the Animated folder, because newly copied emoticons are in the folder with the same title.
Step 3
For the newly added smiles to appear, you need to restart the program, i.e. press the main menu and select "Close QIP". After starting the program, press the main menu again and select the "Settings" item. On the "Interface" tab, go to the "Smilies" block and select another set of smilies from the drop-down list.
Step 4
When using the ICQ program, it is much more difficult to change emoticons. As a rule, changing the set of emoticons is almost impossible. Recently, the company itself has imposed a restriction on this operation. It is now possible to add just one additional smiley file at a time.
Step 5
To load the emoticon into the program, go to the tab with emoticons and click the "Manage emoticons" element. Then click "Add Emojis" and select a single emoji file. To display it, you must activate the item "Show additional".
Step 6
For the ICQ client Pidgin, which migrated to the Windows operating system from Linux, you need to download any of the presented sets from this link https://pidgin-im.ru/faylyi/kollektsii-animirovannyih-smaylov-dlya-pidgin/2.html. Unpack the contents of the archive into the folder with the program C: Program FilesPidginDatasettings.purplesmileys.
Step 7
Close the program and start it again. Click the top menu "Tools" and select "Settings". In the window that opens, go to the "Themes" tab and in the "Smiley style" block from the drop-down list select a new smiley pack. Click the "Close" button, now the new emoticons will be displayed instead of the usual ones.
