Connecting to the Internet via a telephone line is carried out using special equipment. ADSL modems are of two types. The first includes devices with support for a Wi-Fi network, and the second includes equipment that is not able to work in the access point mode.
Necessary
- - ADSL router;
- - patch cord.
Instructions
Step 1
To connect to the ADSL internet of a laptop, both types of respective routers are suitable. Naturally, in order to keep the computer mobile, it is better to use equipment that supports Wi-Fi. Get the right router.
Step 2
Connect the equipment to AC power. Use a splitter to connect the DSL port of the router to the telephone line. Take the patch cord that should be included with the network device and connect it to the LAN channel.
Step 3
Connect the other end of the cable to the network adapter of the mobile computer. Turn on your laptop and Wi-Fi router. After loading the operating system, open a web browser.
Step 4
Enter the initial IP address of the router and press the Enter key. Go to the WAN menu after launching the setting interface. Configure the Internet connection parameters.
Step 5
Use the modes recommended by your ISP. Activate the NAT function. Check the box next to Enable DCHP Server. Save the settings by clicking the Apply button.
Step 6
Now open the Wi-Fi menu. Create a wireless access point and select the parameters of the router from the available options. Enter the password required to connect to this network. Don't use simple combinations if you want to prevent unwanted connections.
Step 7
Reboot your DSL router. Try going online from your laptop. If the equipment has gained access to the network, disconnect the LAN cable from the mobile computer. Connect to the created access point.
Step 8
Wait a while for the wireless adapter to obtain an IP address from the router. Check your internet connectivity. The described method allows you to connect a large number of mobile computers to the Internet by concluding just one contract with the provider.
