You can connect a laptop to the Internet in different ways: via an Ethernet cable, via a mobile phone (in this case, it is used as a modem), via a USB modem. The difference between them is that the modem is located in different devices.
Instructions
Internet connection via Ethernet cable. In order to configure a connection of this type, you need to go to the "Network Connections" folder and select "Local Area Connection".
Click on this icon twice and you will see that a window appears called "Local Area Connection - Properties". In the "General" tab, select the "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)" line and click on the "Properties" button.
A window appears called "Properties: Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)". Here, check the box next to the "Obtain an IP address automatically" line, since the laptop has a dynamic IP (changing from session to session).
Save the settings, click the "OK" buttons and, going to the "Network Connections" folder, double-click your connection. The Internet provider asks you to enter your username and password in the window that appears. Enter your details. You are online.
