Any laptop or desktop computer equipped with a built-in or external wi-fi adapter and operating system Windows 7 or Windows 8, if desired, can be turned into a wi-fi router. And create your own home or office wi-fi network, connect a smartphone, camera, tablet, another laptop or desktop PC to it.

Step 1
The first way. Go to the command line with administrator rights and enter the command netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow ssid = "MS Virtual WiFi" key = "Pass for virtual wifi" keyUsage = persistent into it (you do not need to put quotes). Then go to Device Manager and check for a new adapter called Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter or Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport adapter.
Step 2
Activate the new adapter. To do this, go to the "Control Panel", from it - to the "Network Control Center". Find in it the newly created connection named Wireless Network Connection 2. Go back to the command line with administrator rights, type the command netsh wlan start hostednetwork (without quotes). After setting up the home network, the PC will be able to distribute a wi-fi signal, regardless of the type of Internet connection.
Step 3
To set up your home network, open the "Control Panel" and go from it to the "Network and Sharing Center". In the menu that appears, select "Change adapter settings". In the window that opens, click on the "Properties" tab, then - "Access" and check the "Allow other network users to use the Internet connection of this computer." Go to Network Adapter Connection and select the previously created Wireless Network Connection 2 adapter.
Step 4
Second way. Download and install the Connectify software. After installation, find the icon of this program in the tray (area of icons in the taskbar) and open it with a double click. In the window that opens, in the Wi-Fi Name field, create a name for your router. In the Passphrase field, create a password. In the Internet field, select "Wireless Network Connection".
Step 5
Without closing the Connectify window, go to the Wireless Control Center. Find and activate "Wireless Network Connection" and "Wireless Network Connection 2". Check if your PC is connected to the internet.
Step 6
Go to the Connectify window and click the Start Hotspot button. At the same time, the red circle on the Connectify icon should disappear. In the tab with available connections, check for an existing Internet connection and a newly created access point. Using it, you can connect any device to a PC using wi-fi technology.
