If someone with whom you have to share your time at the computer is excessively abusing the downloads using the uTorrent program, you may think desperately to block this program. This can be done using the Winlock utility.
Necessary
Winlock program
Instructions
Step 1
Open the Winlock program - after launching it will immediately appear in the tray. Find the program icon in it, click on it with the left mouse button and select "Open Winlock" in the menu that opens. Or, more simply, click F11 on your keyboard.
Step 2
Go to the "Access" tab and select "Programs" in it. At the top of the window there is a drop-down menu, select "Block by name" in it. Click on the "Add Programs" button, and in the window that appears - on "Browse".
Step 3
A new window will open, in which you will be prompted to specify the path to the exe-file (i.e. the startup file) of the program - in this case, it is uTorrent. Specify it and click "Open". In the next window, click "Add" (the exe-file will appear in the list) and "Close". Check the box next to uTorrent.exe. In theory, it is possible to block the launch of a program using the "Block by information" function, but in relation to uTorrent specifically, it does not work in a strange way.
Step 4
If you later decide to remove uTorrent from the list of blocked programs, select its name in the list with the left mouse button and click on the "Remove" button next to "Add". Or just click Delete on your keyboard.
Step 5
Click OK. The program will prompt you to enter a password and its confirmation, it must consist of at least 2 characters. Subsequently, this password will be requested whenever the user intends to enter the program settings or decides to close it. In the same window there is the "Enable protection" item. By removing the check mark from it, you will unlock all objects at once.
Step 6
Go to the "Settings" tab and put a check mark next to the inscription "Save password in the settings profile". This is necessary in order to remove the installed lock would not work with a regular restart of the computer. Click OK for the changes to take effect.
