When your computer can be used for other purposes, for example, by little children, you need to impose restrictions on access to the Internet, including Internet applications. The simplest way out of this situation is to use the KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) antivirus. It will protect against attacks on PC ports, and will not allow other users to use the Internet in your absence, and will block access to the network for some programs.
Instructions
Step 1
It is worth noting that the ability to use a computer by children in your absence is not the only problem that can be solved by blocking access to the Internet. Without your knowledge, some programs can automatically access the network, increasing traffic consumption and also slowing down the connection speed.
Step 2
To close access to the Internet, first open KIS. In the upper right side of the program window, you will find a link that will take you to the "Settings" item.
Step 3
Look at the left panel of the window that opens - there you need the "Protection" item. Then enter the "Firewall" section. In the right pane, then check the box next to the "Enable" - "Firewall" menu item. Click on the "Settings" button.
Step 4
The "Firewall" window will appear. In it, select the "Filtering Rules" tab. A list of programs will open, where you need to select the one whose access to the Internet you want to close. After selecting a program, click on the "Add" button below the list.
Step 5
In the "Network rule" window, go to the group called "Actions", then select "Block" and in the "Network service" list select the item whose name sounds like Web Browsing. Then click on Ok.
Step 6
Next, in the "Firewall" window, select the "Filtering rules" tab. Under the program that you have selected earlier, the inscription "Deny" will appear. Here you need to click on the Ok button.
Step 7
Then click on OK again in the settings change window. After that, the selected program will not be able to access the Internet. Access to it for her will be closed.
