Beloved by millions of the game Minecraft itself is interesting for the multivariance of the tasks it offers. However, there is a way to make it much more interesting - to install special modifications that add additional features to the gameplay. Moreover, this is also suitable for multi-user resources. What are the nuances of installing mods on the server?

The right mod will delight players
The right mod will delight players

It is necessary

  • - administrator rights
  • - installation files for Minecraft Forge and ModLoader
  • - installer for the desired mod
  • - any archiver

Instructions

Step 1

It is important to make a reservation: you have the ability to install plugins and, in general, any software products for multiplayer only if you are endowed with administrative powers on such a resource. Ordinary players are not entitled to such actions. The admin, before performing them, must definitely carry out some preparation. Be sure to copy all game saves to a folder specially created for this - in case of any server failure when installing plugins. Then, even if this happens, you can easily restore the original state of the resource. Otherwise, all its users will be forced to start the gameplay from scratch.

Step 2

First of all, install two global mods, on top of which you will install the rest - ModLoader and Minecraft Forge. After downloading their installation files, first open the archive of the first of them with any special archiving program. Go to the server jar as well. Select all folders in the first, except for META. INF (if it is present, no mod will start), and transfer to the second. Check the server's performance after such manipulations and be sure to do the same after each step of installing modifications. Wait until Done appears on the screen that appears and stop the game resource with the / stop command. Repeat the above steps with Minecraft Forge.

Step 3

Download the mod you are interested in from a reliable resource offering software for Minecraft. You can - if you wish and have certain skills - create such a software product yourself. In any case, make sure that the mod is working and not broken. In the second case, it will not start anyway, but it may cause some problems in the functioning of the server (which obviously will not contribute to the growth of its popularity among gamers).

Step 4

Install the required mod in the same way - by transferring its files from the archive to the directory with your game resource. See if META. INF has been saved there (although if there are already any modifications on the server, such a folder should not be there). Check the performance of the game resource again. If after starting the server with the mod a black screen appears and the gameplay does not start, check if there is no bin folder left in the minecraft.jar directory. If it is saved there, delete it - otherwise the game will not function. After launching Minecraft, it will restore the necessary files automatically, but now they will already be compatible with new mods.
