Minecraft, attracting more and more gamers to the ranks of its fans, is so popular largely due to the fact that it does not remain monotonous. Various maps and modifications, constantly created by someone, make the gameplay extremely interesting here. However, for everything to really be so, the correct installation of this or that mod is also important.
What is required to install mods
There is no single recipe for everyone on how to properly throw the installation files of a mod into the game directory. In this case, the procedure depends solely on some technical components. First of all, the version of the game, the features of the operating system of the computer and the mod that is supposed to be installed, matter.
However, for any add-ons to work correctly, you first need to install special software products - AudioMod, ModLoader and Minecraft Forge. The first of them supports sound files of various formats and makes it possible to add your own tunes to the game, the second is a loader for many small mods, and the third synchronizes them so that they do not interfere with each other's functioning. By the way, in versions of Minecraft younger than 1.6, no modification will work without Forge at all.
Therefore, you need to install the above applications, starting, for example, with ModLoader. The archive with its installation files must be downloaded from a reliable source, and then, by opening it with an archiver program, transfer its contents to the game directory. In versions 1.6 and later, it is located in.minecraft / bin / minecraft.jar, and in later editions of Minecraft, in versions. However, this is relevant if the gamer installed the game where it was offered by default. Otherwise, he will need to find the way to her himself.
When the installation of ModLoader is complete, you will need to delete the folder in minecraft.jar called META-INF. Its presence will prevent any mods from working. You will have to do this only once - then such a folder will no longer appear. Now you need to install Minecraft Forge and AudioMod.
Mod installation options
Once the above add-ons are installed, the mods will be easier to handle. There are at least two options for installing them, and it will be necessary to read the readme text file in the archive of the installer of a particular modification in order to understand which method is suitable in a particular case.
Some mods will just be enough to throw in a specific folder in the game directory. There they will be found by ModLoader, and the player will no longer have to worry about their functioning: this is the concern of the above loader program.
The first time you start Minecraft after installing Forge and ModLoader, the mods folder will be generated in the folder with the game. It is in it that you need to move all the files from the mod's archive by opening it through the archiver. If, in addition to bin / jar, there is also a resources folder, materials from it must be thrown directly into.minecraft. Only then will the modification work correctly.
Starting from the game version 1.6, this process will be slightly different. In this case, the contents of the archive with the mod will need to be dropped not into the mods directory, but into the one in the name of which the numerical designation of the Minecraft version is mentioned and there is the word Forge (for example, 1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804). In addition, for the correct start of the gameplay, you should select the "Forge" profile in the launcher, and not the one that is usually.
