Traffic Inspector is a proxy server through which one or more computers are connected to the network. The administrator can fully control traffic, has the ability to customize the program's firewall, ensuring maximum security of Internet use. When a new version of the program is released, the task of updating the old one arises while preserving all existing system settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Before updating Traffic Inspector, you need to create a copy of the folder where the program is installed in order to restore it if necessary. In order to save all the settings of the old one in the new version, copy the database and the configuration file.
Step 2
Remember to check your product activation key. If the term of access to this update has expired earlier than the date of production of the distribution kit, it will be impossible to activate the distribution kit.
Step 3
To migrate from version 2.0 to the new 2.0.1, you must first uninstall the previous version of the program. To do this, go to Add or Remove Programs, find the Traffic Inspector in the list and click the Remove button. Do not forget to make a copy of the folder where it was installed before uninstalling the program. This will allow you to restore the old version, if necessary. Program settings are not deleted during uninstallation.
Step 4
After uninstalling the program, start the installation of the new version (in the same folder where the old one was). If you want to transfer the Config and Data folders to the new version, stop the Traffic Inspector service before copying.
Step 5
In order to migrate from version 1.1.5 to 2.0.1, transfer client settings, balances and tariff plans using the "Transition Wizard". Please note that while the Wizard is running, the session will be restarted and the balance will be transferred, and the billing session will be closed. Please note that the transfer of statistics, SMTP gateway, proxy server logs, and data from external counters is not possible.
Step 6
Run the Configuration Migration Wizard - the executable file GotoTI20.exe in the zip archive of the program. As soon as the wizard finishes his work, check all the Traffic Inspector settings: tariffs, filters, rules, balance, etc. If you plan to use group accounts, update the agents on the client computers.
Step 7
When switching from version 1.1.4 to the new 2.0.1, only settings, passwords, logins and user groups will be transferred. You will need to reconfigure all the rules and filters of the program.
