Sometimes you need to restrict Internet traffic if the connection speed is not very high. This can also be done if several people are using the Internet, which also lowers the speed. There are special methods that will allow you to achieve this task.
Instructions
Step 1
Download CC Proxy software from the official site. Click on the Download link and then click Open to download this file. In the dialog box, click the "Run" button to begin the installation procedure. Just follow the instructions on the screen. The installation wizard will do the rest of the work.
Step 2
Run applications after installation. Open it by going to Start - Programs, where you will find the CC Proxy folder. Click on the button labeled "Account". When the "Manager" function window opens, click on the "Create" button.
Step 3
Enter the IP address of the computer on which you want to restrict traffic in the "IP address / IP Range" field. In the "Bandwidth" section, enter the desired download speed. You can also specify the programs for which you want to reduce it. For example, a P2P client, application manager, or browser. Save these settings by clicking the "Save" button.
Step 4
Use an alternative method as well. Download "Traffic Shaper XP" from the official resource of the same name. This program is an application similar to "CC Proxy". On the website, click the "Download" button.
Step 5
Click on the "Open" button to save the installation file in a temporary folder on your computer. Once the download is complete, click the Run button and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
Step 6
Run this application by going to the "Programs" section in the system "Start" menu. Find the "Traffic Shaper XP" folder. Click on the "File" button in the menu and click on the "Create rule" function. Please enter your internet connection type here. Click on "Network Adapter" in the drop-down list to see a list of supported Internet connections.
Step 7
Click "Direction" and select "Download Speed". Click "Next". Specify the type of traffic limitation in the "Rate limitation" field. For example, "90 kbps". Click on the "Next" and "Finish" buttons. The settings will be saved.
