Many people are interested in how you can find out the password for a wireless network. The password is needed in order to connect new devices to the network, but what if you forgot it? There are several easy step-by-step methods to find out your wireless password.
Router (router)
The router has its own unique IP address located on a label on the bottom of the device. Most often this is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.0. The address is also written in the instructions for the device. If a PC or laptop is connected to the router, then you need to enter the IP address in the browser, and if not, then first connect the device via a network cable.
Then the page with the entrance to the router settings will appear, where you need to enter the login and access code. These are admin and admin by default. Then the router settings will appear, and the page may look different visually (depending on the model), but there is always such a section as "wireless connection protection". This is where the password is located.
Windows
The password can also be calculated through the operating system. There are two methods
First method:
- Hover the mouse over the network (the icon is located on the bottom right, near the clock) and press the right button of the computer mouse. A context menu will appear;
- Click on the item "Properties", and then - "Network Properties";
- In a new window, the item "Security" will appear, where there will be encrypted characters. To display the network password, click on "Show characters".
Second method:
- Go to the "Network Control Center" (located in the control panel;
- On the left, select "Network Management";
- Select a network and go to its properties;
- Next, you need to act as in the first option.
These simple methods will help you either find out the password, or make it possible to change it.
