Joomla is one of the most popular CMS. It allows you to quickly create a website and configure all the necessary parameters using the functions of the admin panel. This content management system also makes it possible to create direct links to files for download by visitors and users of your resource.
Instructions
Step 1
Upload the necessary files using FTP to your resource. To do this, open any FTP manager (Cute FTP, Total Commander) and create a new connection to the server through the corresponding menu item. Enter the details that the hoster gave you to manage files on the site.
Step 2
Create a separate directory to download all files, you can create additional folders by type. For example, you can create a documents directory for documents, videos for videos, music for music, etc.
Step 3
Go to your Joomla dashboard by entering the administrator login and password specified during installation. The authorization page address looks like https://your_site.ru/administrator. After successfully entering your username and password, you will be taken to the main resource management page.
Step 4
Go to the content management page using the Materials tab. To create a link, enter the following code: Download file After finishing adding a new material, click the "Save" button. The link will be attached to the created or edited post on the page.
Step 5
If you want to download a large number of files, automatically generate links to them and create a special interface for downloading, then you can use the offered file managers. There are many such scripts and templates for Joomla, such as Whatever Download or jDownloads.
Step 6
To install the selected template for the link generator, go to the "Extensions" item in the admin panel and select "Install / Remove". In the "Package file" field, specify the path to the file manager downloaded to your computer, and then click "Download file & Install". Wait for the installation process to complete.
