Almost any pop-up ads, including banner ads, are blocked by the Adblock Plus program. To install this extension, you need to go to adblockplus.org. The order of installation is slightly different on different browsers, in any case, you must either confirm the installation or allow it by clicking on the appropriate button. Remove banner by removing extensions from the browser
There are some types of ads that Adblock Plus cannot block. This is exactly the same advertisement that can pop up from the sides, top and bottom. Such advertising banners often and randomly appear on your screen while visiting the Vkontakte website, and are very distracting and unnerving. These advertisements are caused by extensions installed in your browser. The most interesting thing is that you may not remember the fact that you installed such extensions. As a rule, they are installed on your browser in addition to some downloadable program. To make these banners disappear and not interfere with you, you need to remove these most unnecessary extensions from your browser settings.
In the Google Chrome browser, in the upper right corner, click the "Settings" button and manage Google Chrome, then select "Settings" and select the "Extensions" item from the list on the left. This tab displays all extensions installed on your browser. Disable unnecessary extension by unchecking the box next to the "Enabled" item. Then refresh the Vkontakte page. The banners will disappear.
If several extensions are installed, disable them one by one, while refreshing the site page. In the Mozilla Firefox browser, to disable extensions in the menu, first select "Tools", then "Add-ons". In the window that opens, disable unnecessary extensions. To remove VKontakte banners in the Opera browser, in the menu immediately select "Extensions", then the item "Manage extensions" and here you click the "Disable" button opposite the selected extension.
If, after carrying out all the procedures listed above, the advertising banners on the Vkontakte website do not disappear, then, most likely, your computer is infected with a virus.
