Games that support multiplayer mode have won back their share of popularity from single-player games in recent decades. After all, no doubt, playing against real people is much more interesting than against a computer. Perhaps one of the most popular online games in recent years is the "shooter" Counter Strike.

Instructions

Step 1

Download the Counter Strike distribution and install the game on your computer. The system requirements of Counter Strike are not great - for comfortable operation, a system with 256 megabytes of RAM, 64 video memory of a graphics card, and a CPU power of 800 megahertz is enough. To play in multiplayer mode, make sure your computer is connected to your local network using Ethernet. Playing on the Internet will require an Internet channel speed of at least 128 Kbps. If all these conditions are met, you can start creating your own online Counter Strike game.

Step 2

Launch the installed game and wait for it to load. After that, click on the "New game" button in the start window of the game. First of all, in the opening dialog box for configuring the future network game, select the card on which the gameplay will take place. After selecting a map, go to the adjacent tab of the dialog box, which contains more detailed gameplay settings. In this tab, write the name of the game server with which players will find it on the network, set a limit on the number of players, and if necessary, create a password to connect to the game server. Next, set up the gameplay - set the starting amount of money for new players, "freeztime" at the beginning of each round, audibility or lack of audibility of footsteps, damage when shooting at partners, and so on. After finishing configuring the server, click OK. The download of the game starts.

Step 3

To connect other players to your network game, they will need to click on the "Find Servers" button in the main game window. In the server search results window, players will need to select your server (tell everyone its name in advance) and press the "Connect" button, if necessary, enter the password for the connection. After the first player connects to your server, the match will start over. In the future, the gameplay will not be accompanied by a restart when new players join.
