When registering an e-mail, the user chooses a username and password. The login will serve as part of the email address, the password is needed in order to open mail and work with correspondence in it. If you have chosen an unsuitable name for the mailbox, unfortunately, you will not be able to change it.
Instructions
Step 1
Despite the impossibility of changing the login on the mail service, there is still a way out of this situation. Get a new email and set it up correctly. The described method applies to the Yandex system; on other mail services, proceed by analogy. The names of sections or buttons may differ in name, but they are the same in meaning.
Step 2
Open the page https://mail.yandex.ru and click on the "Create mail" button, or open the Yandex main page and click on the link "Create a mailbox" in the left part of the window under the mail login form.
Step 3
Go through two registration steps. You will need to choose a new username, create a password and provide personal information. It is better to provide reliable information about yourself, so it will be easier for the system to recover your password if you forget it. After registration, log into your new mailbox.
Step 4
In the upper right corner of the window, immediately below your e-mail address, click on the "Settings" link. You can also click on the "Configure" link on the left side of the screen (below the list of folders) and after switching to a new page go up one level.
Step 5
On the settings page, select the "Collect mail from other mailboxes" section. The Yandex system can collect correspondence from any servers that support the POP3 protocol. In the E-mail field, enter the address of the old mailbox, in the Password field, respectively, enter the password to it.
Step 6
Decide if you want your mail to remain in your old mailbox when collecting mail. Depending on your choice, check or uncheck the box next to "Keep originals of letters in the box". Click on the "Enable Collector" button. Wait until the connection is established, and specify in which folder you want to place the collected correspondence. Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Step 7
If the connection is not established, click on the settings page the link "Mail programs" and make sure that there are markers in the fields "From the pop.yandex.ru server via the POP3 protocol" and "From the imap.yandex.ru server via the IMAP protocol". Save your changes and repeat the steps above. After that, send letters from the new mailbox, and letters arriving at the old address will be redirected to your new mail.
