When working on the Internet, users often encounter pop-up windows. Sometimes they can carry useful information, but more often they are the usual annoying advertisements. If you do not want to see such windows, you need to configure the browser you are using.

Step 1
Not all browsers have the same effective means of fighting ads and, in particular, pop-ups. It is quite easy to assess this efficiency - if the browser copes with ad blocking, even when you are actively working on the network, you will rarely see pop-ups.
Step 2
Use the Opera AC browser to work on the network. This browser is a user-developed version of the Opera browser, it includes many effective anti-adware tools. Even with the default settings, you will get rid of most pop-ups. If necessary, you can fine-tune it by adding certain ad units to the blacklist or, conversely, allowing pop-ups for some sites. To enable blocking, open the "Settings" menu item and check the "Block unsolicited windows" checkbox. The browser will notify you of blocked windows in a small disappearing message in the lower right corner of the screen. You can open a locked window and view it by clicking on the browser message.

If you are working with Mozilla Firefox browser, to configure pop-up blocking open the menu item "Tools" - "Settings" - "Content" and check the box "Block pop-up windows". If necessary, you can configure exclusions by clicking the button to the right of the blocking item.
Step 4
If you are using Internet Explorer, click the "Tools" button, then select the "Blocking pop-up windows" line. Then you can enable or disable blocking by choosing one of two items. IE allows you to view blocked windows by simply clicking the pop-up blocking information panel that appears.
Step 5
The popular Google Chrome browser does not have a built-in pop-up blocker. But its creators have provided the ability to install additional extensions to combat advertising. Open the settings item (wrench icon), select "Options", then "Extensions". Then select the item "View gallery" and select the required extension.
