Step 1
Almost every modern browser has the option of activating the "default browser" option. To install this option in Opera, if it is not, first of all, you need to start it. Double-click on the shortcut with the left mouse button or once on the icon on the Quick Launch.

After loading all pages, go to the top menu, if it is hidden, left-click on the button with the browser logo. Then click the Tools menu and select General Settings or press the F12 key combination.

In the "Settings" window that opens, go to the "Advanced" tab. On the left side of the window, you will see several sections, select "Programs". In the right part of the window, check the box next to “Check that Opera is the default browser.” Click “OK” to save the changes.

Restart your browser. When a window appears asking if you want to install Opera as the default Internet browser, click the "Yes" button.

Because the Windows operating system is multifunctional and the same action can be performed in several ways, the "By default" option can be activated using the standard tools of the system itself, for example, the "Select default programs" applet.

Click the Start menu and select Control Panel. In the window that opens, run the Add or Remove Programs applet. In the left part of the window, select the "Select default programs" section.

On the right side of the program, click on the "Other" link and go to the line "Select the default Internet browser". Select the main program Opera and click "OK" to close the window.

Launch your browser. If it was open, restart it to check if the "Default Browser" option is active.
