Connection to the Counter Strike server is carried out using a bundle IP: port. In some cases, the port required for the program to connect to the server may be blocked by the system firewall. To unlock it, you need to go to the appropriate section of the system settings menu.

Step 1
To disable port checking for the Counter Strike server, you will need to open a firewall and configure according to the port number used.
Step 2
Go to "Start" - "Control Panel". If you are using Windows 8, click on the Metro menu icon and enter the query "Control Panel", and then select the result. Select "System and Security" - "Windows Firewall" from the options offered.
Step 3
You can temporarily disable Windows Firewall to allow other players to access the server. To do this, click on the link "Enable or disable firewall" on the left side of the window that appears. On the next screen, select the "Disable Windows Firewall" options for both public or local network connection blocks. Click "OK" to apply the changes and start your Counter Strike server.

If you do not want to disable the firewall, use the option "Allow communication with an application or component", which is also located on the left side of the Windows Firewall window.

In the window that appears, click on the "Allow another application" button and select HLDS or Counter Strike. After that, click "OK" to save the changes.
Step 6
You can also manually specify the port that the firewall should open for inbound and outbound connections. To do this, click Advanced Options and wait for the Firewall with Advanced Security window to appear. In the list of available options, click "Inbound Rules" and click "Create Rule" on the right side of the window that appears.
Step 7
Select "For Port" and click "Next". Specify the port used to create the server and save the changes. You can set a similar setting for outbound connections in the Outbound Rules menu. Once all the settings are done, close the firewall window and start your Counter Strike server. The opening of the Counter Strike port is complete.
