It is difficult to imagine a modern office without a local network. Internal networks provide tremendous opportunities, and it is very unwise to neglect them. Therefore, the question arises of creating and configuring a local network.

Step 1
Select the type of data transfer option before you start creating a local area network in your office. You can do wireless, wired, or combination. There are several factors to consider when assessing a situation.
Step 2
First, find out the type of devices that make up the network. Use a wired network for computers. If laptops are wireless. And if laptops, computers and printers are among your devices, it would be more logical to build a combined network.
Step 3
Then, if you need to provide the maximum speed for the exchange of information between devices, use a better wired network, since wireless technologies usually have a lower speed for data transfer.
Step 4
Purchase either a switch or a Wi-Fi router based on the analysis in the first step. Keep in mind that when setting up a large enough local area network, you will need several of the above devices.
Step 5
Install your router or switch in an easily accessible location. If you chose a wired network, connect all the necessary devices to it, which will make up the office network. Connect the equipment to those laptops or computers that will be turned on all day long. If you do not follow these steps, you may lose access to these devices from other PCs.
Step 6
On any computer or laptop, open the network connection settings. Open the properties of the protocol for TCP / IP version 4 communications. Enter the ip address for this device. It is better to use simple combinations of symbols, for example, 9.9.9.1.
Step 7
Now, for the rest of the computers and laptops that are connected to your network, repeat the previous operation. Change the last segment to avoid conflict of ip-addresses - the format of ip-addresses of all PCs will look like this: 9.9.9. Y.
Step 8
Select the required folder in order to create a shared network resource, right-click on it, then go to the menu called "Sharing", select the item containing the inscription "Homegroup".
