Sometimes messages in the mailbox accumulate to a mind-boggling amount and volume, which is why they present certain inconveniences. The instructions below will allow you to delete messages without downloading them from the server.

Step 1
Install the specially crafted telnet utility. To do this, click the Start button, then select Run…. Enter the name of the telnet 110 program and press Enter.
Step 2
Now, connected to our mail server, in terminal mode, wait for the telnet window to appear. It will display a prompt like + OK QPP [KOI-78] (version 2.592rc6) at startiang. Next, telnet will need to be slightly reconfigured by opening the Terminal menu and selecting Preferences …. Now check Local echo and Blinking Cursor checkbox, then click OK.
Step 3
You will see a server prompt, along with a blinking cursor. Enter your username separated by a space after the word user, and then press Enter. Comes to you from the server + OK Password required for (and then your username).
Step 4
Enter your password separated by a space after the word pass, respectively press Enter. If all the data was entered correctly, then the response from the server comes: + OK (your username) has 3 messages (15894 octets).
Step 5
You can see a list of messages stored on the server by typing the list command. Remember to hit Enter after each command. You will receive a response similar to + OK 3 messages (15894 octjets1 1574).

This message means that there are 3 15Kb messages in your mailbox. Of these, the first is 1.5, the second is 3, 2, etc.
Step 6
To view, for example, the first 7 lines of a second message, type top 2 7, and for the entire message, retr 2. To delete the second message, type dele 2.
Step 7
You can close the session after deleting all unnecessary messages with the quit command, after clicking, which telnet will provide you with information that the connection with the server has been terminated.
