Emptying an email inbox manually, message by message, is a tedious job, especially if there are a lot of them. It is much more convenient to carry out this operation automatically. The web interface of almost every postal service is equipped with a corresponding function.

Instructions

Step 1

Log into your email inbox using the web interface.

Step 2

Create a new folder to store whatever messages you need even after cleaning. Give it any name you like.

Step 3

Go to your inbox. Highlight the letters on the first page that you need to keep. Perform the operation of moving them to a new folder.

Step 4

See if there are any important messages from the following pages on the first page after that. If necessary, transfer them to an additional folder.

Step 5

Do the same for all important messages from every page in your Inbox.

Step 6

Do the same for important outgoing messages. For them, so as not to confuse them with important inboxes, you can create a separate new folder. Just in case, look for important emails in your spam folder - sometimes they get there by mistake.

Step 7

After transferring all your important messages (there are likely to be relatively few of them) to the new folders you created, start cleaning up your inbox and outbox folders. Clean each of them as follows. First, try to find a button or menu item (including a drop-down one) on the page that allows you to empty the entire folder. The location of such a point depends on which postal service you use. If you can't find it, look for the checkbox located at the very top of the page, above the first message. Check it, and all messages will be highlighted either on the page or in the entire folder (also depends on the postal service). Delete them. If it turns out that messages on only one page were deleted, repeat the operation until the entire folder is cleared. Even so, the cleanup is much faster than manually selecting and deleting messages one at a time.

Step 8

All messages that you deleted will be in the "Deleted Items" folder. Clean it in the same way. When asked whether you really want to delete messages permanently, answer yes.

Step 9

Do not delete anything from new folders where you have moved important messages. Back up important emails, if desired.

Step 10

Exit the mailbox.
