Internet security is a recognized necessity these days. Sometimes you need to protect not only your computer from unwanted intrusion, but also restrict the access of its users to some sites. This is especially important when a child is at the computer.

Instructions
Step 1
Block access from the Internet Explorer browser.
Start Internet Explorer and open the Tools menu. Select "Internet Options". Select the "Privacy" tab and click the "Sites" button. Enter the addresses of the sites to which you want to block access in the corresponding field and click "Block", and then select "OK".
Step 2
Block access from the Opera browser.
Launch Opera browser. Enter "Settings" and click the "Advanced" tab. Select "Content" in me on the left side of the form. Click the Add button and enter the URL of the site you want to block. Close the menu and restart your browser.
Step 3
Block access from the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Firefox offers to use its add-ons to block sites. One of the handy plugins is LeechBlock, but there are others. Start Firefox. Go to Tools, Add-ons and find LeechBlock. Click Add to Firefox. Click the Install Now button. When the installation is finished, restart Firefox so you can start blocking access to websites with LeechBlock.
Click "Tools" at the top of the menu. Select "LeechBlock" and then select "Options".
Enter the URL of the site you want to block. This program is convenient in that you can choose not only a complete blocking of the site, but also a temporary one - at certain hours or days of the week, for a certain period of time. This is handy for self-discipline if you want to resist the temptation to take a break from work. It is no less convenient for monitoring children.
Step 4
Block the site simultaneously for all browsers on the computer
Click the Start button, select All Programs. Select "Standard", then "Command Prompt."
Enter the following line into the DOS command “notepad C:. / Windows / System32 / drivers / etc / hosts ". In notepad, find the line "127.0.0.1 localhost". Behind "127.0.0.1" in place of "localhost" the name of any website you want to block. For example, if you want to close access to smeshariki.ru, you must enter "127.0.0.1 www.smeshariki.ru". Save your changes and close Notepad and Command Prompt.
