In August 2012, Facebook announced a new type of mobile app advertising. Now users will be able to go to the pages for downloading applications using links in advertisements.
Since the appearance of the social network Facebook, there has been no advertising in it and appeared only in 2012. Until now, targeted ads in the Facebook mobile application told about the actions of the user's friends on the advertisers' pages and were closely related to the interests of a person. They redirected users only to advertisers' pages within the social network itself. Now advertising will also take away from it. The demonstration to the general public of the new type of advertising has already taken place. It is beneficial for game developers in particular. Now users will be able to go directly to the advertiser's website by clicking on the panel that says "Try to play these games" and download applications from there. The panel will also display information about which of the user's friends are already playing these games. The more apps your visitors download, the higher the cost of those ads will be. Previously, ads were shown to the user if he was already interested in these brands or searched for similar information. Now ads will be shown depending on gender, age, interests of the owner of the social network account, etc. This is expected to be a new, more effective type of targeting. The advertisement will be displayed in the news feed. An ad banner marked "sponsored" will be embedded in the feed. With the help of the new service, not only Facebook mobile applications will be taken into account, but also sites associated with social network accounts, in particular, the Amazon.com online store, the Yelp search engine and the LinkedIn service. It is possible that soon ads will also be tied to the actions performed by the user in the mobile application. Until now, they have not been tracked. But this will probably need permission from the users themselves. Facebook's monetization opportunities will now expand. The company will be able to set payments not per click, but for the downloaded application. And this, of course, is more expensive.
