When registering a mailbox in the Yandex system, users are advised to choose an easy login and a complex password. This is quite understandable: the login is the beginning of the e-mail address, it will have to be dictated to other people. The password is used to protect the correspondence. If it is lightweight, it will not be difficult for attackers to figure it out. If you decide to change the password on your Yandex mailbox, you need to take several steps.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch your browser and open the Yandex home page. Log in to the system using your old password. Remember that when registering a mailbox, you gained access to all Yandex services, therefore, when you change the password for mail, the password for access to all other services of the system (Yandex. Disk, Yandex. Bookmarks, and so on) will change.
Step 2
After authorization, your login will appear in the upper right corner of the browser. Click on it with the left mouse button - a menu will expand. Select the Change Password command. On the "Yandex. Passport" page that opens, in the "Old password" field, enter the password with which you entered the system.
Step 3
In the New Password field, enter a new character set. If you have any difficulties, use the hint link "How to choose a password". In the "Confirm new password" field, enter the same information as in the second field. Just below, enter the verification code from the picture into the appropriate field and click the "Finish" button. The new password will be taken into account by the system, and you will again be on the Yandex main page.
Step 4
You can also change the mailbox password in another way. Log in to the Yandex system and left-click on your username in the upper right corner of the browser. In the expanded menu, select the "Passport" item.
Step 5
On the page that opens, your personal data will be located on the left, and the available actions will be on the right. Select the "Change password" item in the right menu and follow the steps similar to those described in the second and third steps.
Step 6
You can change the mailbox password while on the page of any Yandex service, but if it is essential for you to do it directly in your mail, click on the "All settings" button (in the form of a gear) and select the "Security" section in the drop-down menu. On the page that opens, click the "change password" link in the phrase "For security reasons, we recommend that you regularly change your mailbox password." Follow the steps described in points 2 and 3.
