To reduce the likelihood of your email being hacked, you should change your mailbox password several times a year. This function is available to account holders on the popular Yandex website.
Instructions
Step 1
Log in to your Yandex mail. Go to the website www.yandex.ru. In the upper right corner of the page, click the "Mail" button, enter your username and password and left-click on the "Login" command. After that, the page of your mailbox in Yandex will open in front of you.
Step 2
At the top right of the window, find the gear icon. Hover your mouse cursor over it and you will see a prompt "All settings". Click on the icon with the left mouse button. In the window that opens, select the "Security" command or any other of the proposed ones, since in any case the redirection will occur to the same tab.
Step 3
On the left of the page that opens, click on the "Change password" button. It's at the bottom of the window. You will be presented with the "Change Password" page. Enter your current password.
Step 4
Then come up with a new security code. In accordance with the rules of the Yandex website, the password must be no shorter than 6 and no longer than 20 characters. The new code can contain numbers, Latin letters, and basic punctuation marks. In this case, it is not allowed that the password is identical to the login. To protect your e-mail from hacking, create a unique security code that you have not previously used on other mail services or social networks.
Step 5
Enter your invented security code in the "New password" field. If it meets Yandex's requirements, the comment “Reliable” will appear under the printed characters. Enter your new password again in the "Repeat so as not to be mistaken" field.
Step 6
In the "Enter characters" window, type in the letters that you see in the picture on the left. If the characters are difficult to read, click the Other Code command below the letters. You can also confirm the password change by entering 4 numbers, which will be named in the audio clip. Click on the command "Hear code" and enter the desired characters in the empty field. Then click on the "Save" button. After that, your password in Yandex mail will be changed.
Step 7
Your mailbox may contain sensitive personal information or business data. To prevent them from being lost and not made available to intruders, do not save passwords in your browser. After you finish working with e-mail, log out of your Yandex account and only then close the website page. Thus, if a stranger gains access to your personal computer, he will not be able to enter your mail on the Yandex website.
