There are tricks thanks to which you can read a message in VK and leave it unread. This means that you will see the written text, while the person who sent it will be noted that you did not receive (did not read) it.
Instructions
Step 1
To read a message in VK and leave it unread, it is enough to enable such a function as receiving notifications. After logging into the site, enter the settings menu and go to the "Alerts" tab. Make sure there are check marks next to Direct Messages, Instant Messages, Sound Alerts, and Show Text. Now wait until someone from the user writes to you, since it will be hard not to notice with alerts enabled.
Step 2
As soon as you receive a message in VK, do not rush to read it right away. First of all, pay attention to the bottom corner of the screen, where a notification will appear with the name and avatar of the sender. Also, the text of the message will be written here in small print, which can be easily read. Do not click on it or close it, otherwise it will be marked as read. Just close the tab with your VK page in the browser and go to it again, and the notification on the screen will disappear by itself.
Step 3
In addition, you can read the message in VK and make it unread in the "Messages" menu in your profile. Immediately after the arrival of a new message (opposite the corresponding menu item, the number "1" will appear), click on this item. In the dialogue menu, the new message will be at the very top and highlighted in gray, which indicates that it has not been read. Just read the text that is visible on the screen without clicking on it. Then the message will remain in the "Unread" status. Unfortunately, this method is convenient only if the text of the message is small, otherwise you will be able to read only a small part of it.

You can read a message in VK and leave it unread using special applications for mobile phones, which include the invisible mode of VKontakte. Currently, there are quite a few of them, and their functionality is very different. Just go to the AppStore or Google Play, depending on the type of device and search for applications by the word VK or VK, and then install the program you like. There are applications that make it so that the user will always be offline and thus read messages without being noticed. There are also simple messengers based on VKontakte messages: through them, you can simply communicate with other users, setting up the mode of receiving messages in a convenient way.
