Wikipedia is a popular online encyclopedia created by the readers themselves. If you are well versed in any topic and want to share your knowledge with the rest of the Internet, you can write an article on the "Wiki".
Instructions
Step 1
Check to see if there is already an article on the topic you want to share with the world. When searching for articles, use synonyms, type in topics that are close in meaning to the search bar. However, if the exact same or similar article was found, do not be discouraged. You can supplement the existing one, or, when writing your article, give a link to the found one, as a more general or related concept.
Step 2
It is also possible that you should create a redirect page. This page is required when one concept has two or more names. It sends the user to a page with the desired information, but it does not display itself.
Step 3
In order to write a wiki article, type its name into the search. After the system offers you notes where the combination of words you entered is found, you will see a link "Create page" at the top. Your name will be indicated in brackets. Follow the link provided.
Step 4
The "Editing" tab will open in front of you, where you should enter the text of your note.
Step 5
The wiki article should start with a short introduction. If you thought about writing an article while you were reading information related to your topic, remember that Wikipedia users can get to your page from anywhere. Give the reader all the information you need yourself.
Step 6
The keyword or headline should be in bold. Place an emphasis on all uncommon words. Also, stress should be placed on words that the user can read in two ways.
Step 7
Use the preview button periodically to ensure that all information is displayed correctly.

If you are satisfied with the appearance of the article and its content, click the "Capture Page" button to save the information you entered. The wiki article is now saved on the server.
