Musicians often present new songs on the radio while it is still impossible to buy them on disc or on the Internet. If you listen to a radio station online, you can always easily make a recording of your favorite composition from it.

It is necessary

  • - computer with Internet access;
  • - any audio editor.

Instructions

Step 1

Switch on the desired station.

Step 2

Open your recording software. For these purposes, any audio editor is suitable, for example, Cubase, Adobe Audition, Sound Forge.

Step 3

Open the properties panel of your sound card (you can do this by clicking on the speaker icon located in the lower right corner of the screen). Select in the menu item “Record the item with the name of your sound card.” Most likely, it will be the default.

Step 4

In the audio editor, go to the recording settings menu. Depending on the editor, this item may appear in different places. It is often denoted by the word "In" with various variations. In it, you need to select the “Wave mapper” item instead of the recording input on the rear or front panel.

Step 5

Now make a test recording. Click on the "Rec" button of your audio editor. If you did everything correctly, you will see a moving graph of the amplitude of the sound signal versus time on the screen. Adjust the volume of the recorded sound using the recording level control in the sound card settings. You need to set such a level that the amplitude of the signal on the graph in the audio editor does not go beyond the maximum limits.

Step 6

Now you just have to wait for the desired song and turn on the recording, then turn off and save the sound file in the desired format. This is done, as in other applications, through the menu item "File" - "Save as". Select the format (mp3 is fine), bitrate (if you know the bitrate in which your station transmits, then set it) and the directory where you want to save the file.
