The Mozilla Firefox browser is one of the most popular browsers on the Internet due to its functionality. The program also supports blocking unwanted websites. To use this feature, you will have to install special extensions in the add-on manager.
Instructions
Step 1
Open Mozilla Firefox from the shortcut on your desktop or start menu. After that, click in the upper left part of the window to bring up the program menu. Select "Add-ons" from the suggested items.
Step 2
In the upper right part of the tab that appears, enter the name of the BlockSite extension. It will allow you to enable support for blocking unwanted resources, add pages to the "Black List", as well as disable any links to these sites - the browser will show only text instead. The "Password Protection" function will help protect the plug-in settings changes. Press Enter to start searching.
Step 3
In the list of results, select this extension and click "Add to Firefox". Allow the download of the add-on and click the Install Now button. After installation, restart the program.
Step 4
Go to the Add-ons menu of the browser window again. Among the installed extensions, click BlockSite - Preferences. Check the box next to Enable BlockSite. Also select the "Blacklist" line to enable the extension's functionality. To remove links to blocked resources from the text of other sites, you can select "Enable link removal" and "Enable warnings". You should also set a password to change the program settings. To do this, select "Enable Authentication".
Step 5
Press the "Add" button and enter the address of the site that you want to block, then click "OK". Once you finish adding unwanted resources, press the "OK" button again and restart the program.
Step 6
To import a list from several sites at once, you can create a separate text file with their addresses. Right-click on the desktop and select "New" - "Text File". Then open the created document and enter the addresses of the resources you want to close access to. Each address must be entered on a new line.
Step 7
Save the changes, and then go to the extension settings window and select the "Import" section. Specify the path to the created file and click "OK". The addition of unnecessary sites is now complete.
