There are many ways to block websites on the internet. Some of them help regular users to protect themselves from spam resources, while others allow parents to block sites with harmful content from their children. It's worth learning how to do it easily and for free.
Instructions
Step 1
Customize the list of available sites in your internet browser. To block specific resources, go to Internet Options and its Tools menu. Select "Content" and go to the "Access Restriction" tab.
Step 2
Enable Content Advisor by clicking on the appropriate button and entering the administrator password. If you don't use a password, any computer user can open browser settings and unblock sites. Content Advisor allows you to use settings in four areas: Recommended Settings, User Settings, General Settings, and Advanced Security Settings. Focus on “recommended” and “advanced” settings to block the websites you want.
Step 3
Adjust the dedicated rating slider to restrict sites by parameters such as presence of harsh language, nudity, sex, and violence. There are five configurable parameters. They allow the browser to automatically choose which sites are safe and which are not. Click on the Allowed Sites tab to add exclusion sites.
Step 4
Configure host parameters. This will further strengthen the defense. Click the Start button and select Run. Enter the following command: C: / Windows / System32drivers / hosts.
Step 5
Go to the bottom of the window that opens and find the line "127.0.0.1". Press enter and enter a website with inappropriate content. For example, to block VKontakte, you must enter "127.0.0.1 vk.com".
Step 6
Add additional sites to the blocked list by changing one number in the host parameters before the website address. For example, the next site will be already under the mask "127.0.02". When you're done, save the settings file and exit.
