If your site is visited by a large number of people, you can make it more interactive by inserting a mini chat. This add-on will allow visitors to communicate with each other without taking up much space on the page.
It is necessary
- - HTML code of the chat;
- - a program for editing HTML-code;
- - FTP client.
Instructions
Step 1
Use one of the dedicated mini chat resources such as Chatovod or Chatium. Come up with and indicate in the special fields the name of the future chat and the address of its page. The address must contain at least four and no more than twenty characters. After filling in all the proposed fields, click the "Create Chat" button.
Step 2
Go to your mailbox, the address of which you specified when creating the mini-chat and go through the activation process. In the chat control panel, select and copy the HTML code to be inserted into the site. You can choose from four different code options.
Step 3
Open the mini-chat HTML page of your choice using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and paste the copied code into it. Use an FTP client to upload the modified page to your site server.
Step 4
Configure the desired chat settings in the control panel. To make it appear in the directory tree, check the corresponding text box. The administration of the site for creating a mini-chat will consider your project and after a while will approve.
Step 5
Choose a suitable chat design. You can use either a ready-made design or set the necessary settings manually, for example, change the font size, background color and background image. After saving the chat settings, you will no longer be able to change its code.
Step 6
Assign a chat moderator and administrator. They can be any users registered on the site. The rights of moderators include the right to block and unblock users, while administrators have the ability to add and edit ads. If you send relevant applications to users, they must give their consent to receive the position of administrator and moderator.
