The chat is designed for real-time messaging of site users. It helps to attract a new audience to the site and keep the old one. In general, the process of creating a chat boils down to adding HTML code to one of the pages of your site.
It is necessary
- - HTML-code of the mini-chat;
- - a program with which you can edit HTML-code, for example, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5;
- - FTP client, for example, CuteFTP 8 Professional;
- - knowledge of the basics of the HTML language.
Instructions
Step 1
Register a chat on one of the services: chatovod.ru, chatium.com, chatlist.su, xat.com. For example, in the chatovod.ru service, to create a new chat, come up with its name and page address. The page address must contain at least four and no more than twenty characters. Fill in all the fields offered by the service and click the Create chat button.
Step 2
Log into your mailbox, the address of which you specified when creating a chat and activate it. Log into the chat control panel and find the HTML code to embed it into the site. Choose one of the four options for the code and copy it.
Step 3
Using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, open the HTML page of your choice for the mini-chat and paste the chat code into it. Using an FTP client, upload the modified page to your site's server.
Step 4
In the chat control panel, configure its settings. If you want your chat to be displayed in the directory tree of the chatovod.ru service, check the box next to the corresponding text field. Your chat will appear in the directory after being reviewed by a moderator.
Step 5
Choose a chat design. In this case, you can use both a ready-made design and set some settings manually, such as background color, font size and background image. Once these settings have been saved, the chat code on your site does not need to be changed.
Step 6
Add an admin and chat moderator. They can be any users registered in the service. Moderators have the right to ban and unban users, and administrators, in addition, have a VIP status and can add and edit ads in the chat for free.
