Check if all sites are loading, or if only some of them stopped working. In the second case, the culprit may be the hosting provider serving these sites. It is also possible that you forgot to pay for Internet access, or your provider is carrying out maintenance work, and you only have access to the resources of the local network. If, when you try to visit a particular site, a notification appears that it contains extremist information and is blocked, although you tried to get to a page where such materials are guaranteed to be absent, then your provider uses outdated access controls that block specific pages., and entire sites.

Malware that mimics such situations should be distinguished from true blocking notifications. The peculiarity of such programs is that they require payment for unlocking, for example, via SMS. Often they block the operation of not the browser, but the OS as a whole. Do not fall for such tricks even if a warning about prosecution in case of non-payment of the alleged "fine" appears on the screen. Start treating the virus immediately.
Step 3
If you are using a router or modem router and have more than one computer, check if the Internet is working on the other machines. If the LED corresponding to your computer has gone out on the router's case, the malfunction may lie both in the network card and in the device itself. Try swapping the cables at the output connectors of your router and see what changes. Based on the results of the check, make a decision about replacing the network card in the computer or using a free output connector in the router (if any).

You can check the availability of a web resource using the ping utility. Its syntax in Linux and Windows is the same: ping name.domain, where name.domain is the domain name.
