When you open Twitter, you see a huge feed of messages in front of you. It can be scrolled endlessly. But what if you want to write something there yourself? At first glance, this is not so easy, because there are no special fields there.
How to write a tweet
To write a tweet, you first need to sign up for a Twitter account. After completing the registration procedure, you will be recommended interesting accounts, which you can immediately follow (subscribe to them). You will also have access to the function of posting tweets.
You can tweet from many devices, but the general principle of publishing is about the same everywhere. You need to find a drawing of a feather enclosed in a blue square. It is located in the upper right corner of the screen. For example, on twitter.com, it is located to the right of the search bar.
When you hover over this blue square with a feather, “New Tweet” appears. You just have to click on the icon with the left mouse button. A separate window will open in front of you where you can write a message. Keep in mind that your tweet should not exceed 140 characters (including spaces, links, etc.). The publication ends by clicking on the "Tweet" button.
In the official iPad app, you need to click on the same icon to post a tweet. Further actions are also the same.
The interface in the application for mobile phones based on Android is slightly different. There, to publish your message, you first need to scroll down the feed. Then a line will appear at the bottom of the screen with the words "What's going on?" When you click on it, a keyboard opens, from which you can already write your tweet.
Posting Photos to Twitter
The tweet form has a photo icon. On the web version of Twitter, it is accompanied by the inscription "Add a photo". Clicking on it opens a menu from where you can select a photo and upload it.
The “Take a photo” function is available in applications for mobile devices. That is, you can take a photo of something and immediately attach the photo to the message, bypassing the call to the photo album. This is very handy when you are broadcasting live from an event.
Photos in messages are published as a link. Usually, photos attached to a message are automatically expanded in the feed. In other cases, to view it, you must click on the link.
You can also insert a link to the desired photo in the message. In this case, it will open only with an additional click.
Another feature allows you to tweet your location - where exactly you sent your messages from. To do this, you need to enable the option in the settings.
Correspondence on Twitter
When you tweet, you can mention another user of this social network. To do this, you need to put the @ sign and the nickname of the desired user. He will receive a notification that he has been mentioned.
You can immediately respond to the user. To do this, you need to click on the arrow icon and write an answer. This response tweet (replay) will start with a mention of the user. He will be able to see which of his tweets you replied to.
You can also retweet another user's favorite message. To do this, you need to click on the corresponding button under the desired tweet. This message will appear in your followers' feed, indicating that you retweeted it.
There are many unofficial clients for twitter. The entries are left there in different ways.
Other ways to post tweets
Tweets can be sent not only from the official website of the service and official applications. Now on most sites under articles there are social media buttons, including Twitter. By clicking on it, you will send a link to this page on Twitter (if you have saved your account in your browser).
In iPhones and iPads, you can publish a link directly from the browser - using the share button (arrow going out of the rectangle). Also, many applications allow you to share information on Twitter.
Twitter also allows you to automatically send links to posts on other social networks there. For example, on VKontakte or Instagram. You just leave a post there, and the link to it is automatically published on Twitter.
