If you want to find yourself in the middle of a tornado, it's best to switch to Creative mode first. Otherwise, death may occur earlier than the player has time to enjoy the sensation of being in the vortex itself.

You need to arrange materials on the workbench in about the same way as for the siren - but only two units of redstone dust are needed, and the cells under and above the central one remain empty.
If you do not want to simply wait until the aforementioned mechanisms react to the approach of a tornado, it is not a sin to cause it yourself - with the help of a special thread device called the Tornado Gun. It is quite simple to make - it only requires a wooden stick and two threads (they, as you know, fall out after killing spiders). The first is placed in the central cell of the workbench, and the latter are placed under and above it.
