Communication using messenger programs has radically changed our lives. Thanks to them, we can keep abreast of the latest news, communicate with friends, regardless of their geographic location. Jimm is one such program. This is a mobile phone application with which you can exchange messages.
Necessary
- - mobile phone with Internet access;
- - computer;
- - a cord from the computer to the phone.
Instructions
Step 1
At the very beginning, find out if your phone meets the requirements for installing this program. In order for Jimm to be installed and fully functional, the phone must have an Internet connection, Java and socket support. The following phones do not have such support: Nokia 3650, 7210, 7250, 7650, N-Gage; Siemens SX1; Sony Ericsson T610, T630, P800.
Also, the phone must have at least 320 Kb of free memory. 70 KB will be needed to install the application itself, and 250 KB of RAM will be needed for the program to work.
Step 2
So, you have determined that your phone is suitable for this program. After that, you need to upload the installation files to your phone. Important note: Jimm has two types of installation files: jar and jad. Jar is a Java application, more precisely, an archive that contains it. The Jad file is needed for those models that do not support direct Jimm installation from a jar file.
Step 3
You can put files on your phone in three ways. The first way is to transfer files from one phone to another using bluetooth. To do this, take your phone, turn on the bluetooth function in it, then turn on the same function on another phone that has the files you need. Turn on file transfers, accept them.
The second way to transfer installation files is to download them directly from the Internet. To do this, you need to go to the Internet through the phone, type the website address in the browser line https://wap.jimm.org.ru/download.wml and download the required files
The third way to put files in your phone's memory is to download them to your computer first, and then, by connecting your phone directly to your computer, transfer the files to your phone. Choose the method which is the most convenient for you and proceed to the next step.
Step 4
Installing and configuring Jimm
Jimm program works via GPRS-Internet, so on your phone, set up this type of connection, not WAP GPRS.
Launch Jimm, then enter your UIN and ICQ password (in Options / Account /).
Step 5
Next, fill in the Settings menu. These settings are usually the default. If not, check with your service provider. Fill in the Interface menu as you like. Select language, encoding and other options. After setting the parameters, you need to restart Jimm.
Step 6
Now connect and use ICQ messages on your phone.
