Instructions

Step 1

Let's consider a cheap internet connection. It is perfect for those who have one of the computers that practically does not turn off. All costs in this case will be reduced to the purchase of one network cable and an additional network card (if one is not already there).

Step 2

You need to start by choosing a computer that will be connected to the Internet directly. The selection parameters are quite simple: it must be turned on for a longer amount of time and have enough power to handle two Internet connection streams. This method was tested on a PC with the following characteristics: a single-core processor with a frequency of 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, an operating system - Windows 7.

Step 3

As you can see from the previous description, you don't have to have a very powerful computer. Connect the second NIC to the selected PC. It can be either an internal PCI card or an external USB adapter.

Step 4

Let's start with setting up a second computer. Connect both PCs with a network cable. Open the LAN settings of the second PC. Go to TCP / IPv4 Properties. Set the static address to 192.168.0.2. Pay attention to the items "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS server". They must be filled in, otherwise the computer will not be able to access the Internet. Enter the IP address 192.168.0.1 in them.

Step 5

Leave the second PC and go to the first one. Set up your internet connection. You know better how to do it. If you are in doubt about the correctness of the settings, contact the provider's specialists.

Step 6

Open the "Network Connections" menu. You should see an icon for your internet connection. Open its properties. Select the "Access" tab. Check the box next to the topmost item. It is responsible for providing Internet access to other computers on the network. In the next field, enter your network connection.

Step 7

Open local network settings between computers. Enter the permanent IP address 192.168.0.1. Reconnect to the internet.
