The IP address acts as the network coordinates of any node on the Internet. You can find out this information in the network connection settings. If you want to determine the server address of a resource, then first you need to find out its domain name.

Instructions

Step 1

Click on the computer icon located on the right side of the taskbar in the tray area. Launch Network and Sharing Center. Go to the "Changing adapter settings" section. If your computer is a server, then in the window that opens, there should be at least two network connections. One of them is responsible for accessing the Internet, and the rest for distributing it over the local network.

Step 2

Select your internet connection and right-click on it. Open the "Status" item and click on the "Details" button in the window that opens. Global IP address, i.e. the one by which you are identified on the Internet will be indicated next to the line "IPv4 address". Local IP address, i.e. the one under which the computer acts as a server is listed in the "IPv4 DNS Servers" line.

Step 3

Find out the domain name of the server whose network address you want to determine. For example, if you are interested in information about the Yandex server, then the domain name will be yandex.ru or ya.ru.

Step 4

Go to the main Start menu by pressing the Windows key or the button on the taskbar. Choose Run, or open it by pressing the win + r key combination and type cmd into it to open the command line console. Press the enter button.

Step 5

On the command line, specify the name of the utility that you want to use to determine the server's IP address. For example, you can use the command to trace the route to the required server - tracert, or the command to estimate the speed of packet transmission between the server and your computer - ping.

Step 6

Enter the selected command and enter the name of the server domain name separated by a space. Hit Enter. It is worth noting that corrections cannot be made on the command line, so if you entered the text incorrectly, then just press Enter and try again. Wait for the command to execute and analyze the result. Among the received data, the required server IP address will be indicated in square brackets.
