New approaches to distributing information on the Internet and building web services, such as web syndication and mash-up, require tight integration of various sites and services. An example of such an integration can be the import of data in the form of compact informer blocks embedded in the resource pages. As a rule, the need to install an informer on your site arises from the need to provide users with the most relevant thematic information.

Instructions
Step 1
Get the code to embed the informer. Go to a site that provides the necessary informational content in a similar form. Find the page where you can get the code. Often on such pages, you can choose the type, size, color scheme of the informer, as well as the type and amount of information provided by it. If you need to register to get the code, go through this procedure. Generate HTML code and save it in a separate file on your hard drive.
Step 2
Select a place on the site pages where the informer will be installed. Consider the design of the page and the relative position of the information block in relation to other elements. Based on the size of the informer block, determine whether adding it will break the page layout structure.
Step 3
Install the informer on your website. Edit the site page templates or the content of the pages themselves by adding the code obtained in the previous step. If the site is built on the basis of any CMS, and there is an online editor of page templates or theme files, open the required template in the online editor, paste the code and save the template.
Otherwise, connect to the site server using an FTP client program and copy the required files to your computer hard drive. Open the downloaded files in a text editor that supports saving information in an encoding that matches the original text encoding of templates or pages. Paste the informer code and save the changed data. Replace the files on the server with their patched versions by using your FTP client again.
Step 4
Check the functionality of the site with the installed informer. Load several pages of the resource, which contain the added information block. Make sure that the placement of the informer does not interfere with the display of the pages. Resize the browser window. Make sure that the layout of the page is not distorted at different resolutions.
